Launch of £1 Billion Automotive Transformation Fund
Delivered as a collaboration between APC, Innovate UK, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and the Department for International Trade, this new programme sets out to put the UK at the centre of the global transition to zero emissions.
The Automotive Transformation Fund (ATF) is a UK Government initiative to support the large-scale industrialisation of an electrified supply chain. The programme will support strategically important capital and R&D investments in the UK and will begin by focusing on companies involved in batteries, motors and drives, power electronics, fuel cells and recycling. UK registered businesses can apply for a share of up to £1 billion to fund innovation projects in this competition. Total eligible project costs and project duration must be appropriate and in proportion to the planned objectives.
To kick off the Automotive Transformation Fund, £10 million of funding is now available through a feasibility study competition. This funding will support the first wave of innovative R&D projects to scale up manufacturing of the latest technology in batteries, motors, electronics and fuel cells.
Applications for the funding competition ‘ATF: moving the UK automotive sector to zero emissions’ are open until Wednesday 19th August 2020. You can apply here https://www.apcuk.co.uk/competition/atf-moving-the-uk-automotive-sector-to-zero-emissions/
