New Economic Impact Report from BT Cymru Wales
The Economic Impact of BT Group in Wales
In the past year, having good connectivity has become more important than ever as we’ve all had to work, learn, and spend more leisure time online. Continued investment in our networks helps keep the UK connected and provides a vital boost to the economy.
BT’s latest Economic Impact Report, commissioned by consultancy firm Hatch, highlights that BT is responsible for almost 5000 jobs in Wales and contributes £971 million in Welsh GVA. BT is also spending £340 million with suppliers in Wales.
The report demonstrates that BT continue to be a crucial part of Wales’ economy and want to work closely with all stakeholders to ensure that BT is at the heart of the digital agenda. Greater connectivity has the potential to catalyse Wales towards an economy fit for the future, in our cities, towns and rural areas.
BT has published a report demonstrating its value to the Welsh economy. You’ll find a full copy of the report – available in both Welsh and English – including statistics for the whole of the UK on ther website for you to look at.
