Lab by Transport for Wales
Lab by Transport for Wales is an innovation programme designed to support start-ups and scale-ups in developing ideas that benefit the public transport sector and enhance customer experience. The programme runs multiple 12-week accelerator sessions, bringing tech start-ups from across the UK to Wales. These sessions aim to foster innovative solutions that are socially, culturally, and environmentally friendly.
Transport for Wales has been appointed by the Welsh Government to run rail services in Wales. We’re introducing new trains and electrifying tracks. With timetable improvements, we've increased train services across Wales and the borders.

Hackathons
The aim of our hackathon is to bring people across an organisation together to work through business opportunities and create innovative options to progress by condensing work into a 2-day period. This allows participants to become more productive and stops people from over-thinking or over-complicating the solution to the situation. Our hackathon is a dynamic and engaging event that fosters creativity, collaboration and rapid innovation.
Workshops
Our design thinking and business decision workshops facilitation help organisations better understand their challenges and potential opportunities for solutions in a fun, creative and focused manner.
Innovation Accelerator
Our flagship programme, the innovation accelerator, is a 12-week programme designed to support and expediate the development, growth, and scaling of innovative ideas and projects by working with start-up companies who can help us meet business challenges.
